John Carmack: VR is still developing too slowly

The first hype about VR is definitely over and the technology is currently progressing rather slowly. Although Oculue's Quest and Oculus Go are just quite new professional headsets on the market, overall, they are still too much on the spot.

This is also the view of the Oculus VR CTO John Carmack, who does not see the further development of VR fast enough. Carmack was recently honored with the Lifetime Achievement VR Award, which took this as an opportunity to talk about the current state of affairs. There he said:

"I'm often a bit grumpy in the office because I'm not satisfied with the pace of progress that we've made. When I'm in the VR, I see the magic there, but my brain always reminds me of those huge sticky notes and the work that needs to be done. So it will be a while before I feel really good, remembering my achievements. "

It is well aware that all these technologies have little meaning until they serve the utility. Until then, it has been consoling itself to have helped to create a new canvas for the people who continue to work on it and pave the way to the future of VR.

Sony should be the earliest with the PS5 to hope for a successor to PlayStation VR, which is actively under development, according to various reports.
