The success of sales, of public, and the recent Golden Joystick Awards, encourage Bend Studio to declare itself open to create Days Gone 2.
Although the criticism was not especially benevolent with him, Days Gone has become one of the favorite games of the players during this 2019, becoming one of the best selling titles of the year, in addition to being one of the great winners in the Recent Golden Joystick Swards. The director of Bend Studio and the game, Chris Reese, has confessed in an interview that this affection received encourages them to develop a sequel, and that in fact, it is something they would love.
"Yes, it is our passion, and it is something we have always wanted to do," Reese acknowledges openly. "This is a world we want to keep breathing, adding life and exploring many, many avenues. So who knows, we'll see!" What is certain is that we have recently been able to know that the study of the northern state of Oregon has already entered pre-production of what will be its next game, which is not at all confirmed that this is, for now hypothetical, sequel. However, the intention is there, as well as the good work and having taken the opportunity to return to AAA development for Bend, after a few years away from the radar.
Be that as it may, Reese has also wanted to show gratitude for the love received by Days Gone, both in the form of millions of copies sold and positive messages received, in addition to, of course, both awards at the Golden Joystick Awards we remember, vote on public. "It's fantastic because there was a lot of dedication and hard work from the team, and this is like the final reward for it," says Reese. "Seeing the players so involved in the game and enjoying the passion we put into it, receiving it back is really inspiring."
A game in constant evolution
Surprisingly, Days Gone has not stopped receiving content and updates since its launch, back in April. One of the most curious has also been the most recent, and to celebrate the launch of Death Stranding, it is possible to attach the characteristic baby to the motorcycle of Deacon St. John, protagonist of the game of Bend, in addition to paintings and patches with reasons for the game of Hideo Kojima. But it has not been the only small madness that has come to Days Gone, since this past summer also added a peculiar game mode inspired by the Sega classic, Crazy Taxi.
