The Outer Worlds partially corrects the problem of subtitle size

Obsidian Entertainment publishes patch 1.1, which allows subtitles to be adapted, although the solution still presents problems.

They already said it on Obsidian Entertainment, they are listening to followers to correct the mistakes of The Outer Worlds. One of the most talked about is the one that refers to the size of the subtitles, since a good number of players have complained that they are too small. The developers confirmed that they would study how to tackle the problem and just published patch 1.1, which partially fixes that particularity, although it does not solve it at all.

At least that explains some users in the official videogame forum. "Half of the text is still tiny, especially the one that isn't folded and you have to read." According to the HerrFrau user, he sits 3 meters away on a 40-inch television and still has “problems reading messages, notes, posters of the 'most wanted', records, object descriptions, statistics, etc.”.

SpacersChoice argues that "this does not increase the size of any font with which people are having trouble reading." According to this user, the main problem is experienced when trying to read the status of the character, the inventory or the newspaper. “It's hard to read because it has a dwarf font. This does not solve it at all. ”

The company publishes that it has added an option to increase the font size (the option is under Settings, in the menu). This increase is reflected in "conversation texts, kinematics subtitles, context subtitles and terminal texts."

In addition, the patch attacks other problems and bugs: prevents the game from crashing when the character reaches Tartarus (in certain conditions), polishes the sound problems on PlayStation 4 and better the level of detail of the grass in the version of Xbox One. Anyway, SpacersChoice itself ensures that the update has caused errors that did not appear before: "There are problems with framerate and flashes on Xbox One X that were not there before."

The Outer Worlds is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It will go on sale on Nintendo Switch next year 2020.
