Crysis 2007 looks better than ever with 4K and Ray Tracing mods

Crysis 2007 looks better than ever with 4K and Ray Tracing mods

The celebrated Crytek shooter receives a great face wash after the application of current technology along with high resolution textures.

Crysis, one of the most advanced video games at the time at the technical level, looked scandalous in its launch year, 2007, as long as we had a hardware to match; and many times not even that way. And it is that the title of Crytek offered a graphic section that seemed to come from the future, with a totally overwhelming staging that did not skimp on all kinds of effects to squeeze the most advanced and expensive PC configurations of the time to the fullest. Now and after more than 12 years, the title is still looking great, although some developers of mods have even managed to further enhance their not few virtues, reaching 4K resolution with Ray Tracing.

By developer Pascal Gilcher

Thus, the Digital Dreams channel has published an interesting video in which we can check the results after the application in a way created by the specialized developer Pascal Gilcher known as RayTraced Global Illumination for ReShade, a series of modifications that enhance the graphics of Crysis to unsuspected limits.

And it is that after reaching a resolution 4K and the application of the technique of rendering Ray Tracing (always having a team at the latest hardware level), even the textures of the original game are replaced by new ones much more detailed and realistic, at a much higher resolution (4K), all to give Crysis a simply spectacular appearance.

In addition, there are clear improvements in the overall lighting of the game, as well as a representation of water and vegetation (elements very present in Crysis) much more natural and convincing. If you are interested in trying this mod for Crysis on PC, do not hesitate to visit the official website of the developer, with all kinds of tutorials on this topic, in addition to other similar examples applied in Red Dead Redemption 2 or GTA V, among others.
