Tomb Raider will also feature an anime series on Netflix

The new fiction will follow in the footsteps of Lara Croft after the restart of the most recent trilogy.

After the important agreements with Capcom and Ubisoft, Netflix has sealed a new alliance. Legendary will produce a new Tomb Raider anime series for the platform, which will have nothing to do with the two films starring Alicia Vikander. Although too specific details have not yet been provided, it has been confirmed that these new adventures will be set after the new trilogy of video games, developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal.

The story, therefore, will take place after the events narrated in Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. According to information published by the Hollywood Reporter, Lara Croft’s new adventures will feature Tasha Huo, who is also working on The Witcher: Blood Origin, the miniseries spin-off of the witcher saga. The creative will be the scriptwriter and executive producer of this new fiction.

A new Lara Croft

The Tomb Raider reboot recounts Lara Croft’s first steps. If she was still a neophyte explorer in the first installment, it doesn’t take long to learn to survive in the most inclement conditions. Little by little she becomes the adventurer we all know. At the moment there is no other delivery announced, so we will have to wait to find out what Square Enix’s plans are for the future.

Netflix, for its part, has several major series on the horizon. The Witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare is not based on video games, although the CD Projekt RED titles have undoubtedly increased interest in Andrzej Sapkowski’s work. Instead, the Resident Evil saga will come to the platform twice, with an anime series and a series with actors in real action. As a result of the agreement between Ubisoft and Netflix, we can also enjoy products related to the Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell saga.
