Control – rumors about PS5 implementation, or just a misunderstanding?

Playfront

Developer Remedy may be working on a PS5 implementation of their action adventure game, Control, but this could be a misunderstanding that has been misunderstood.

Origin of the message is the Official PlayStation Magazine, in which Remedy speaks among other things about the next generation and draws comparisons to their current game. So you go to the destruction system and how much you were limited to the current hardware. At the same time one notices that one would have fewer such hurdles with the additional computing power of the PS5 & Co.

It says:

"Given the added burden of a detailed destruction system, we are certainly pushing the limits of what can be achieved with older CPUs. When it comes to the PS5, faster and faster hardware is needed to make life easier in the short term. "

It is unclear whether the work on a Next-Gen version was explicitly confirmed, or whether it is simply deduced from the words of the interview. It is hard to imagine that one mentions or even announces such a project by the way, especially since so far only few developers really want to confirm which games are already working for PS5. In addition, it would probably slow down the sales performance of the current version of Control on PS4 and Xbox One, if it would be known that there is something "better" soon.

A correction or even confirmation by Remedy or Publisher 505 Games should probably be made soon, as soon as this message draws more circles.
