Beat Saber-maker of Facebook bought, support continues

Playfront

The makers of the successful VR rhythm game 'Beat Games' have been bought by Facebook, even though initially nothing will change the support of the other platforms.

Above all, the takeover of Beat Games is intended to further advance its own VR department around Oculus. In a statement it says:

"Sharing experiences with games is memorable and for millions of people, Beat Saber was the first encounter with immersive VR gaming. Today we announce that Beat Games will join us to provide VR to more people around the world. They will join Oculus Studios as a self-contained studio in Prague and continue to create new opportunities for people to experience music and VR games. Most importantly, what the community loved about Beat Saber remains intact. "

Support for PlayStation VR and Co. will continue. As far as future projects are concerned, it remains to be seen whether other platforms will continue to be served. However, Facebook is not as restrictive on this point as Microsoft.
