PS5 – That's why the Dev kits have a V shape

Since the first pictures of the PS5 Dev-Kit have surfaced, people are speculating about their strange shape, which especially captures the V-design. The wildest theories circulate on the net, while the explanation is quite simple and at the same time brilliantly thought out.

Initial explanations were that the V-shape would be synonymous with the PlayStation 5, while others suspected optimized ventilation, as experience has shown that such dev-kits are a bit more loaded than the simple home console at the end. At least once, you've been on the right path with this theory, but there is a much deeper meaning behind it.

The Verge not only confirmed the genuineness of the dev kits once again, but the reason for the v-shape is that they could better be stacked on top of each other. This is necessary, for example, to use multiple consoles for a stress test and then not have to line them up next to each other. Due to the V-shape, the air can be more easily diverted inwards, and of course also to the outside.

That the final design of the PS5 will also look like that, of course, is still pretty unlikely. Although similar experiences in ventilation design come to fruition here, these are usually hidden under the hood.
