New real image of the PlayStation 5 development kit

The capture corresponds to a unit currently in the hands of a development team. Several sources confirm its veracity.

The image of the supposed PlayStation 5 development kit that has been hanging around the networks for several days is real. Two different sources confirm to FreeGameTips that the information, also backed by other international media such as Eurogamer and The Verge, corresponds to reality and, therefore, we are not talking about a montage.

Twitter user @Alcoholikaust shared an image last Saturday where you can see two units of the PS5 development kit that Sony is providing to many development studios around the world; In addition, a version of DualShock appears with slight differences with the current PlayStation 4 controller, the DualShock 4. We remember that the PS5 controller still has no name, but many new features.

Since The Verge, senior editor Tom Warren has ratified the veracity of the image and justifies the design of the chassis, which is designed for optimal system cooling. It is not the final design of PlayStation 5. Sources close to Eurogamer, both British media, protect the information.

There is no doubt that the design of this supposed development kit of the next generation of Sony home consoles corresponds to the patent officially registered by Sony a few months ago. The information is scarce, however, although other recent patents also anticipate that the changes in machine control will not be very large at the aesthetic level, but that haptic technology will evolve the gaming experience.

The original source of the image ensures that these development kits correspond to a development study and that they "have been with them for a long time." The reason why that developer has shared the image has not transcended, but has done so anonymously.

PlayStaton 5 will launch on the market at Christmas 2020 at a price still unknown and with a catalog of launch video games that remains equally unknown. The console will have backward compatibility with at least the current PS4, while its CPU will allow you to recreate better kinematics and more realistic worlds; This will ensure that AI can be more advanced and developments are streamlined. According to Sony, its new console will be "the fastest in the world."
