As every year, the gala will reward the best video games of the year, while offering up to 15 new video game ads.
The curtain opens, The Game Awards 2019 is about to begin. The so-called Oscar of video games will offer the usual show, which will include the awards ceremony, as well as live performances and announcements of new video games. As always, Geoff Keighley will be the master of ceremonies, but will not be alone in his task. Two relevant industry personalities will intervene as presenters.
Reggie Fils-Aime, who recently left the presidency of Nintendo America, is one of those chosen to lead the gala. Nor will I miss the creative Japanese Ikumi Nakamura, a developer who has been linked in recent years to Tango Gameworks, the studio of Shinji Mikami, creator of Resident Evil and The Evil Within. However, Nakamura, who has also worked on PlatinumGames projects, decided to leave the study.
Keighley himself confirmed that Resident Evil 3 Remake, something understandable considering that the project has been officially announced at the State of Play. What is known is that Elden Ring will be present at the gala. At the same time, it has been anticipated that there will be up to 15 ads in The Game Awards 2019.
The Game Awards 2019: where to follow it, schedule and duration
In addition to FreeGameTips, which will follow the gala live (video and text) and through the news section, the prizes can be seen on official channels on YouTube and Twitch, among other platforms. It will last about two and a half hours and will take place on December 12 (or December 13, depending on the territory) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The structure of the gala will be similar to that of other years, so that the awards ceremony will be livened up with live performances. CHVRCHES, who participated in the Death Stranding soundtrack, will be one of the guest bands. Green Day will be another set that will perform live.
