Warcraft 3: Reforged is delayed in early 2020

The expected Blizzard remake postpones its release date, scheduled for 2019, and confirms the new day of departure and available editions.

Surely motivated by the results of its multiplayer beta, which has been available these days, Blizzard has ended up confirming the delay of Warcraft 3: Reforged. A delay that will not catch anyone by surprise, because the game was still scheduled for 2019 and had not specified its departure date, leaving just over ten days to end the year. Luckily it will only make us wait a few months and finally its launch will take place on January 28, 2020. The game will arrive in two editions, standard and Spoils of War, which can already be purchased through the company's store for 29.99 and 39.99 dollars respectively.

"Although we have worked very hard so that you could have Reforged in your hands before the end of the year, as we approached the deadline we felt that we needed some extra development time to make some final touches," Blizzard commented on his website . "As always, our goal is to honor the high levels of quality you expect from us."

A remake with all the lyrics

Defined as "a huge reform for the revolutionary real-time strategy game," Warcraft 3: Reforged is considered by Blizzard as a remake "in the purest sense of the word." A remake that arrives 17 years after the original (a classic 2002) and that brings with it an exhaustive visual remodeling that reaches 4K resolution; a story reinforced at the level of argument and structure, with new dialogues and cinematic sequences; and a whole set of contemporary social and multiplayer tools that adapt the title to the possibilities offered by the genre today (that wonderful new matchmaking …). Among the latter is, for example, the possibility of designing our own maps and content for the game.

This is a very important release for Blizzard because the title was his first 3D game and possibly one of the most important steps he had to take in his career. Reforged will be like a nostalgia shot in vein for the most veteran players and, at the same time, will serve to instruct the new generations in some of the most emblematic moments of the campaigns between the Horde and the Alliance: how Sylvanas became queen of the Forsaken; the exodus of Kalimdor by the orcs, led by Thral; and the purge of the human city of Stratholme at the hands of Arthas, with his final conversion to Lich King.
