Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto test Audi Nuvolari supercar ahead of Monaco GP

Audi F1's Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto test new Nuvolari supercar ahead of Monaco GP

Audi’s freshly revealed Nuvolari hyper‑car saw a quick test session with its F1 drivers as the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix loomed.

Powertrain, speed and driver feedback

The limited‑run machine houses a 4.0‑liter biturbo V8 paired with a high‑performance hybrid system that delivers 1 001 PS, pushing the top speed past 350 km/h. Acceleration figures list 0‑100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and 0‑200 km/h in 6.8 seconds.

Nico Hulkenberg highlighted the “overall package,” emphasizing precise response and the harmony between raw power and drivability. He noted the hybrid unit’s contribution to the staggering output, calling the combination “truly impressive.”

Gabriel Bortoleto praised the car’s turn‑in confidence, remarking on the absence of under‑steer and the neutral, predictable balance across corners. He singled out the integrated aerodynamics and torque‑distribution systems for delivering a cohesive feel.

Monaco qualifying results and championship standing

In the qualifying session, Hulkenberg secured P13 while Bortoleto lined up P16. The pair’s efforts reflect Audi’s ninth‑place position in the constructors’ leaderboard, with Bortoleto sitting 15th and Hulkenberg 18th in the drivers’ chart.

As a nod to racing legend Tazio Nuvolari, the team added yellow accents to the R26 chassis, and Hulkenberg ran a special‑design helmet featuring the same tribute colours.

With the debut race at Monte Carlo completed, Audi’s integration of the Sauber operation and the launch of the Nuvolari signal a bold technical statement as the season progresses.
