Borderlands 3 – New Year's event & more hotfixes

Playfront

While most are just getting in the mood for Christmas, Gearbox is already thinking about the new year and has announced a first event accordingly. There are also a few new hotfixes.

Start the new year by immersing yourself in the Maliwan secret system elimination. From Tuesday, December 31st to Monday, January 16th, you can enjoy the elimination according to the number of players in your group. The matchmaking service will also be customized during the event to get groups quickly eliminated rather than waiting for a full group. This is the opportunity for everyone who would like to try the elimination but have hesitated until now because it is designed for a complete group of four.

Changes have also been made to improve the player search experience in Borderlands 3. The player search option for elimination in the Maliwan secret system was brought forward in the social menu. The Elimination Player Finder service will now only take players out of the elimination process when a full group of four has been found. Gearbox will monitor this approach and then see how to proceed.

Current hotfixes

Before the weekend starts, there are also a few hotfixes that look like this:

  • Reduced shields and armor from Maliwan Death Spheres in the Maliwan Secret Facility elimination
  • Fixed an issue where terror sometimes did not drop its loot when it restarted the Agonizer 9000
  • Fixed an issue where the loot around the Agonizer 9000 could sometimes fall through the ground
  • Fixed a reported progress blocker where enemies in the Kloaken-Knast mission sometimes did not immediately spawn for the "Kill the Traitors" goal
  • Fixed an issue that was causing Zane's “Light Trick” skill to sometimes show lower bonus damage values than he was fixed. Fixed an issue where Moze's “Survivor” skill sometimes did not grant the damage bonus on Iron Bear's right cannon
