Eerily beautiful Christmas – With VR, it scares much better

Playfront

Christmas is not only the time when you sit comfortably under the tree, some also like it particularly creepy in this dark season, which sometimes provides the best templates to scare. Those who now combine the whole thing with VR can look forward to eerily beautiful holidays. We have summarized here which horror games from 2019 are best suited for this.

Contagion VR: Outbreak

Contagion VR: Outbreak has already become a real phenomenon on Steam. The first person shooter frightens, shocks and motivates players around the world. Now the game is finally available for PSVR on Playstation 4. The survival aspect throws you in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and forces you to fight for survival, search for resources and keep your eyes open for zombies lurking here in the shadow.

Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted and other games in the series

One of the most influential horror series in recent years was without a doubt Five Nights at Freddy’s. Although strictly speaking, Golden Freddy and Co. are not zombies, but rather the robot mascots of a pizzeria, in the end they behave quite similarly. And if the robots appear as creepy as in "FNAF", then you can make an exception. Perfect for VR fans: With Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted, there is now an incredibly scary excursion into the virtual reality of the franchise, in which – just like in Contagion VR – you see everything from the first person’s perspective. Definitely a good way to shorten and survive the time until Christmas!

Intruders: Hide and Seek

Intruders: Hide and Seek is an intense psychological terror thriller from the perspective of a defenseless child. In the role of Ben, the eldest child of the Richter family, you go on vacation that you spend in the family's country house. There you will experience from the first person how three dangerous intruders sneak into the house and capture your parents. You need to find out how to save your family, who the three intruders are, and what they want. You cannot escape or fight with them. The only thing you can do is hide yourself. Arizona Sunshine: The Damned

There was also exciting zombie action this year with Arizona Sunshine: The Damned, the last major add-on for the popular VR zombie shooter from Vertigo Games. Before the events of Arizona Sunshine and the Dead Man DLC, The Damned puts players' VR survival skills to the test when they follow in the footsteps of a brand new protagonist who has surely seen better days.

Zombies can be found more and more casino games, where fans get their money's worth. So there are four online slots at Betsson Live Casino, where the undead are up to mischief – including the eerily beautiful Zombie Circus and the adrenaline-fueled Zombie Rush, even outside of VR.

Syren

Syren is quite comparable to Dead Space in VR. The game tells the story of a scientist obsessed with eugenics who is doing horrific experiments to recreate the lost species of Syren. But something went wrong and the experiments could break out. You yourself wake up in the middle of chaos, a laboratory in ruins; creaking under the pressure of the sea as the systems fail. Your goal: prevent the critical point of the reactor and escape from this station.

So if you want to make Christmas your personal scary fun, you can hardly avoid these recommendations from this year, while further highlights have already been announced for 2020.
