111 NASCAR teams have crossed nearly 2,000 miles to head toward the Naval Base Coronado in San Diego for the inaugural street‑course race hosted on an active military installation.
Racing On The West Coast
The motion brings a fleet of 111 cars and trucks representing all three national divisions. The event marks the first time NASCAR will hold a race within the boundaries of Naval Base Coronado, making the trip a milestone for the sport and the U.S. military community.
Alpha Prime Racing
Among the traveling crews, Alpha Prime Racing—co‑owned by Tommy Joe Martins and Caesar Bacarella—has both of its full‑time O’Reilly Auto Parts Series cars on board. The No. 44, driven by Brennan Poole, and the No. 45, piloted by Lavar Scott, occupy the team’s primary entries.
Highway Incident
On the approach to San Diego, one of Alpha Prime’s transport trucks met a mishap when a wheel from a vehicle in the fast lane clipped the nose of another car, ricocheting onto the hauler. The impact left small fragments of debris splintered across the truck and the surrounding roadway. A dash‑cam recording captured the sequence, and the team confirmed it was the first collision of the weekend.
