The Witcher 3 increases its players on Steam thanks to the Netflix series

The push of the new fiction, which has been available on the platform since December 20, has allowed the game to reach unseen numbers since 2016.

The adventures of Geralt de Rivia have reached Netflix through a first season of 8 chapters. The series, which will continue the story in Season 2, already confirmed (if you want to know more, we have published an article about it), has also served to revitalize The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Steam. This is credited by Playtracker, which has reported that the maximum peak of concurrent users has reached 48,000 players.

This figure translates into the fact that the CD video game Projekt has achieved numbers that have not been reached since summer 2016, more than three years ago. Production, however, has continued to sell at a good level. Not surprisingly, the full version of The Witcher 3 recently went on sale on Nintendo Switch. The port includes, on the same card, the base game and the two major expansions, as well as other content.

A mod with the faces of Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra

PC users, meanwhile, have the option to install mods. One of them combines videogames and television series and allows us to use the face of Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra in the CD Projekt RED work. These are the actors who embody Geralt de Rivia and Yennefer de Vengerberg in Netflix fiction.

Both the video game and the series are based directly on the books. In fact, Netflix has had the advice of Andrzej Sapkowski, writer of the novels. CD Projekt RED, on the other hand, has maintained a rights dispute throughout all this 2019, but the author and the Polish company have sealed an agreement that will lead to deeper collaboration in the future,

Meanwhile, the studio continues to work on Cyberpunk 2077, a first-person role-playing game that abandons The Witcher's epic fantasy to embrace science fiction.
