Francesco Bagnaia underwent a successful endoscopic fasciotomy on his right forearm Wednesday, clearing him for a possible return at the British Grand Prix, Ducati confirmed.
Ambassador Milestone
Earlier that week, Bagnaia was honoured as a sporting ambassador by Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs during a Rome ceremony that celebrated several top Italian racers.
Surgery at Modena Clinic
The procedure was performed at the Orthopaedic Clinic of the Policlinico di Modena, led by Prof Luigi Tarallo and Prof Fabio Catani, with no complications reported.
Compartment Syndrome & Recovery Plan
Sources say the operation addressed compartment syndrome, a forearm condition common among MotoGP competitors due to high‑intensity riding. Ducati will use the three‑week summer break for a full rehabilitation before aiming for the Silverstone races scheduled 7‑9 August.
“Pending post‑operative progress, the goal is to be on track for the British GP,” Ducati added, noting that Bagnaia’s participation will hinge on his recovery pace.
