Fortnite will add Patrick Star, SpongeBob’s best buddy, as a sidekick on July 23 2026 at 8 PM ET.
Release Timing and Cost
The sidekick appears in the second wave of the Fortnite × SpongeBob collaboration and is listed at 1,500 V‑Bucks when the Item Shop resets on the morning of the release date.
How to Secure the Sidekick
Launch the game and navigate to the Item Shop via the top bar after the reset. Locate the SpongeBob section, where Wave 2 items sit at the top of the list. Click the “Patrick Star Sidekick” icon to initiate purchase; hold the Purchase button to finalize and confirm you have sufficient V‑Bucks. Once completed, the sidekick will appear in your Locker, ready for deployment in matches.
Smart Play: Bundles and V‑Bucks Management
The sidekick can be discounted when bundled with the new Ice Spice skin; keep an eye on the Item Shop for that offer. If V‑Bucks are low, redeem any V‑Bucks Cards you possess, but note the sidekick stays on sale only for a few days before rotating out.
