PS5: More pictures of the DevKit & DualShock 5 controller

Playfront

Again pictures of the DevKit of the PS5 and the DualShock 5 controller have appeared, this time allowing a slightly better view of the new controller.

While the DevKit is no longer a real highlight, you can now view the prototype of the DualShock 5 controller from above, which will basically remain very similar to the DualShock 4 controller. Obviously, the ergonomics have been further adjusted and made even rounder, while individual elements such as buttons or touchpad have been minimally changed. The PlayStation button should still be there. Of course, it would have been interesting to have a look from below and whether the speculated backside buttons are already integrated.

In this context, there is currently speculation that the DualShock 4 controller will be compatible with the PS5, which is not too surprising and logical. On the one hand, in order to achieve better backward compatibility, on the other hand, one wonders why Sony is only now equipping the DualShock 4 with additional backside buttons? The Move Controllers must also be compatible if you want to use PlayStation VR on the PS5.

It is clear that most changes to the DualShock 5 will take place under the hood, which is also the wish of most developers who do not want to do too many experiments with input methods, and certainly not too many different ones on the different systems.

The current pictures apparently come from a cleaner who he may have secretly picked up while working, and then shows them to his friends via Facebook Messenger. Great friends, by the way!
