Surprisingly, a few weeks ago, 2K Games announced the development of a new BioShock game that will be created by the newly founded Studio Cloud Chamber.
Previously, the BioShock series had been developed by Irrational Games, but only a few of them are involved in the new game, at least as far as the management team is concerned. Instead, they rely on a collective of storytellers and other industrial veterans.
Therefore, there is great hope that the game will really surprise fans if Cloud Chamber takes enough liberties. Jordon Thomas, who worked on the previous games at Irrational Games, says:
"I hope that they will break the chains of the past so that they feel as free as possible. I hope the series is known for it: taking you to places that you didn't expect thematically and physically. [BioShock] is still a bombastic action shooter, but it can be groundbreaking as it has inspired people to try harder and exceed what we did. ”
He sees BioShock as a pioneering role in order to motivate others to do even more, which is also hoped for from the new BioShock.
"I think there is a role for such games. You can critically evaluate all three games, but I think they asked people, "Hey, could we do a little more?" I'm glad the industry is a little more interested in what their games say. "
Nobody currently knows when a release of BioShock can be expected. According to 2K, it will take a few more years since production has only just started.
