Wet start stalls Bahrain Grand Prix
The Bahrain Grand Prix, staged in Malaysia, was halted with a red flag after several cars suffered power‑unit failures during a wet formation lap.
Front‑row mishaps and Bortoleto’s troubles
Heavy tropical rain turned Sepang into a wet mess, and the first wet start under the 2026 rule set exposed numerous gremlins. Pole‑sitter Max Verstappen reported a loss of acceleration, followed by Lewis Hamilton who crawled around the formation lap before regaining speed a lap later. Audi’s Gabriel Bortoleto and other teammates also struggled.
Red flag issued as race is halted
Race control shut down the start sequence and deployed a full stop, suspending the remainder of the opening laps while teams address reliability concerns.
