Further information has now been published on the 'Resident Evil 3 Remake', this time on OPM Magazine. This confirms, among other things, the loss of some features, but also improvements compared to the original.

The following information comes from the OPM today:

  • The Mercenary Mode was canceled, which was an action-packed bonus at the time, in which it was simply a matter of eliminating everything that stood in your way.
  • The Live Selection was also deleted, with which one could start at an individual point in the story.
  • The Nemesis AI has been improved and is now based on Tyrant from the Resident Evil 2 remake, which has been adjusted again. As a result, his behavior is less scripted.
  • The two remakes are more closely connected this time than the original games were. This is due to the fact that the games sometimes overlap in time. You don't want to reveal more.
  • Raccoon City now appears much larger and can be explored more comprehensively. You also give the player more freedom, even if it is not possible to enter every building in general.
  • The sound design has been revised as this is one of the most important components in horror games and often does not get enough attention. This time it's an important aspect of gameplay.
  • There are no multiple ends this time, instead you focus on one end determined by the script. One reason why the Live Selection was also canceled.

Resident Evil 3 will be released on April 3, 2020. As a pre-order bonus, the Classic Costume Pack is available from participating retailers, which includes original designs and hairstyles for Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira.
