Sony is skipping the E3 again, planning its own event?

Sony could skip the E3 again this year and instead plan its own event again. With this, more and more publishers are turning their backs on E3, which could slowly become a problem for the organizer.

As is currently said, Sony's participation in the E3 is probably in the balance, with which there is still no definite acceptance or rejection. According to the latest statements from Sony, the E3 is no longer considered so suitable and instead plans its own events. It remains to be seen whether this will be the case this year.

Wedbush Securities Analyst Michael Pachter also does not expect Sony to return to E3 this year.

“As far as I know, they are not planning to participate […]. I hope they change their minds, but I'm skeptical. ”

The same sources also claim that Microsoft wants to take advantage of this fact more than ever to put themselves and their new Xbox in the spotlight. As mentioned, however, none of this has yet been set in stone.

The E3 will take place this year from June 9th to 11th in Los Angeles.
