Ubisoft prepares internal changes so that their games differ from each other

The gala company has a department that coordinates design ideas between the different studios of the company.

Ubisoft's plans regarding its upcoming video games have been altered after Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint failed to meet the expectations that had been placed on it. The French have a department composed of designers and producers who are responsible for advising, watching and coordinating all their studies during development. However, according to an exclusive published by VGC, recent events have caused the company to decide to restructure to offer more differentiated products.

In a statement sent to the aforementioned media, a representative of Ubisoft has commented on the following. "We are reinforcing our editorial team with the aim of being more agile and better in the task of accompanying our development teams around the world, while creating the best experiences for our players." Sources close to the company say that one of the crucial objectives is to have a more varied catalog.

A new structure with more autonomy

According to the information handled by VGC, the number of vice-presidents who respond to Serge Hascoet, who heads the Parisian department, will expand. In addition, they will be offered greater autonomy. From now on, each of the seven vice-presidencies will be assigned their own franchise, so they can make independent decisions, always under the final supervision of the department.

Ubisoft thinks that sharing responsibilities among different leaders will favor the fact that each team can introduce its distinctive elements in their games. These sources point out that simply expanding the team's resources and giving them a presence outside Paris can have a positive impact. Until now everything was supervised from Paris, so that the studies did not have sufficient autonomy.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint was the trigger, which caused Ubisoft to change its entire road map. Titles like Gods and Monsters, Skull and Bones, Rainbow Six Quarentine or Watch Dogs Legion will not be released on schedule. On the other hand, so far the new Assassin's Creed has not been officially announced, which some sources place at the time of the Vikings.
