Rumor: Resident Evil 8 is still far away, development has only been restarted

Playfront

There has long been speculation as to when Capcom will continue the main line of the Resident Evil with an eighth part. After all, Resident Evil 7 was extremely successful, which usually guarantees a sequel.

As you can hear from the rumor mill, Resident Evil 8 does not seem to run quite as smoothly and the development has even been put on hold in between. So this probably started as early as 2016, but was then overtaken by the remakes and finally re-recorded only a few months ago. The release would be a long way away.

Here are the current rumors:

“There was a version of RE8 that had been under development since late 2016. However, it was interrupted in 2017 because the DLC and RE2 versions of RE7 (which were below schedule at the time) needed further development. Nevertheless, there was a RE8 version that has been in the works for several years.

However, it was officially discarded and the project was only restarted 6-7 months ago, so the “final” RE8 version isn't even a year in development. Now these restarts are often faster because some resources and the like are transferred. However, you can assume that RE8 will not appear in the near future.

There is another Resident Evil game that is likely to be released next year, but neither a remake nor RE8. That's all I'm going to say. ”

To what extent these claims can really be proven is unclear. Therefore, it is just a rumor at first. We have heard that there is another Resident Evil game.

With Resident Evil 8, however, you will probably be able to count on the PS5 at the earliest.
