Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT and Ryzen 5 3600XT arrive with better frequencies that increase performance
Amid stiff competition with the 10th generation of Intel S-series processors, AMD will arrive next July with a linear with better frequencies that improve performance, the Ryzen 3000XT.
The new AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT and Ryzen 5 3600XT processors maximize performance vs. the previous linear by increasing frequencies to achieve better gaming performance and to streamline content creation.
In the midst of this announcement, the worldwide availability of the AMD B550 chipset with PCIe 4.0 support and the A520 chipset for the third generation of AMD Ryzen desktop processors was presented, without forgetting that the AM4 socket has more than 40 designs in development. This presentation also discussed the redesign of the StoreMI with a new interface and improved algorithm for accelerating access to storage devices.
Specifications
MODEL | CORES / THREADS | BOOST / BASE FREQUENCY (GHZ) | TOTAL CACHE (MB) | TDP (WATTS) | SOCKET | ESTIMATED PRICE (USD) | ESTIMATED AVAILABILITY |
AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT | 12/24 | Up to 4.7 / 3.8 | 70 | 105 | AM4 | $ 499 | July 7, 2020 |
AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT | 8/16 | Up to 4.7 / 3.9 | 36 | 105 | AM4 | $ 399 | July 7, 2020 |
AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT | 6/12 | Up to 4.5 / 3.8 | 35 | 95 | AM4 | $ 249 | July 7, 2020 |
According to AMD, the 3000XT series of “Zen 2” architecture offers up to a 4% increase in single-threaded performance vs. AMD Ryzen 3000 processors and up to 40% more energy efficiency vs. its competition.
Importantly, Ryzen 5 3600XT processors will include a Wraith Spire heatsink and Ryzen 9 3900XT as well as Ryzen 7 3800XT, no. For a processor without a heatsink, AMD recommends using an AIO solution with a minimum 280mm radiator or equivalent air cooling to get the most out of them. It is also important to note that this new linear is compatible with all motherboards with a BIOS for Ryzen 3000.
These processors are expected to be available worldwide from July 7, 2020. AMD A520 motherboards are expected to arrive from August 2020.
