Merge Games and Jankenteam announce the return of the famous SEGA platform game for PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PC. First trailer.
Alex Kidd is back in remake form. The publisher Merge Games has revealed together with the Spanish team Jankenteam that Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is a reality; the return of the original SEGA work published back in 1986 for the Master System for PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC through Steam. We already have his first trailer and official details.
Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX
New levels, controls, bosses, music and game modes
Revealed during the IGN Summer of Gaming 2020, the event had this great surprise reserved for lovers of two-dimensional platforms. Apart from the artistic section, which follows in the wake of other remakes of SEGA legacy titles such as Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap, this remake will include all the content of the original video game, including all phases, but updated with new levels and aspects of history that we did not see more than thirty years ago. Among those new features, battles against altered zone bosses or new game modes like Boss Rush.
- New modes: Classic mode and Boss Rush
- New levels
- Alternative boss battles
- Remastered music and new songs
- Classic mode
Other better aspects aimed at improving quality of life details come from the interface, now clearer, as well as some movement mechanics. Everything, adapted from an 8-bit console to current systems.
However, Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX will also remember those who do not want to know anything about what we have just commented and prefer a purely traditional experience. In that case, the title will feature Classic Mode, where identical game levels, bosses, conversations and game mechanics will remain, as they were replicated in SEGA Master System last century.
For those interested in Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX, Steam has already enabled the option to include it on our wish list. If all goes well, the game will come to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC in digital format and translated into Spanish throughout the first quarter of 2021.
