Kojima Productions has explained that they need more time to complete the development of this title, already available on PlayStation 4.
Death Stranding does not escape the impact of the coronavirus. The COVID-19 epidemic has affected the development of the game, so Kojima Productions will be forced to delay its release on PC, initially scheduled for June 2. Through the study's official Twitter account, the company explained that the team requires extra time to successfully complete the conversion. Therefore, the date will be moved to July 14.
Japan is in a state of emergency, but previously, Kojima Productions had to close an entire plant at its headquarters after verifying that an employee had been infected with coronavirus. However, the advance of the epidemic has caused the total closure, although the Japanese Government has not been able to decree the confinement by law, since its constitution prevents it.
"After the temporary closure of Kojima Productions", they begin in the tweet, "we have to delay the release of Death Stranding until July 14, 2020, in order to have more development time", all in the context of the telecommuting. "Thank you very much for your patience and your continued support," they conclude.
Following the temporary closure of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS, we have had to delay the PC launch of DEATH STRANDING to July 14, 2020, to allow more development time amidst the current work-from-home orders in place. It will also come out in physical format
The PC version of Death Stranding will be edited by 505 Games on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. The same publisher will be in charge of distributing a limited version in physical format, which includes a steelbook box, among other extras. In addition to the Photo Mode, also released on PlayStation 4, Kojima Productions has prepared a crossover between Death Stranding and Half-Life: Alyx, the expected return of the Valve saga.
In this video game we play Sam Porter Bridges, a delivery man who will have to travel an alternative and dangerous United States to connect the different territories and save humanity from extinction. The world is consumed by Death Stranding, a strange force that blurs the line between the living and the dead.
