Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2: "The story of FF7 will continue as always"

Inside Final Fantasy VII Remake delves into the story and characters in a new video

The official game guide published in Japan, Ultimania, includes new details on Square Enix's future plans with the game.

With Final Fantasy VII Remake already in stores and consolidated as a commercial success on PS4, the Final Fantasy VII Remake Ultimania guide has been published in stores in Japan, a printed copy where, apart from its task to answer questions and find all the secrets, also includes an interview where Yoshinori Kitase (producer) and Tetsuya Nomura (co-director) offer interesting statements about a Part 2 already in development.

Nomura on Final Fantasy VII Part 2: "I would rather launch it as soon as possible"

When asked what the next episode of this anthology will be like: "This depends on how many parts there are," begins Nomura. “If it is divided into larger parts, it will take a little longer; And if we do it in smaller parts, we can launch it in a shorter period. Personally, I would rather launch it than before, "he adds.

The nuance, however, is that the studio has not yet decided how many parts the work will be divided into, that it will not change its history as much as some fans may think based on the end of the first title of this remake.

In Kitase's words: “We have a rough idea, but we haven't decided yet. It is not something that we can say definitively. The most widespread speculation says that it will be a trilogy ”, but it is not something closed and, therefore, the number of parts is unknown.

As many doubts as the last leg of the adventure raises in Final Fantasy VII Remake, Kitase is clear: “From now on, we are not going to drastically change the story to make it something completely different from the original. Although it is a Remake, please assume that the story of Final Fantasy VII will continue as Final Fantasy VII always has. ”

In closing these statements, Square Enix officially explained at the end of last March why Part 1 covers only the act of Midgar.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available on the PlayStation 4 family of consoles; It will be exclusive until April 10, 2021. From then on, it will be able to see the light on other platforms. You can read our Reviews and consult the complete guide we have completed.
