Fireproof. If there is an adjective to describe Minecraft, it is that. More than ten years have passed since its launch, it has had several spin offs (the last one, Minecraft Dungeons), it has its own series for Netflix (Minecraft: Story Mode) and there is a movie on the way (scheduled for May 4, 2022 ). But no matter how much they squeeze it, we don’t get tired of Mojang’s work. All thanks to a bigger and bigger community every day that does not stop renewing the contents of the game and make each visit something unique. To show what we bring you today, a list of our favorite maps and servers of 2020. With the most disparate settings and proposals, they are full of players and ooze infinite doses of fun. Take note of their names because here we have spent our best moments in Minecraft this year:
The best Minecraft maps in 2020
Skyblock
With over two million downloads, Skyblock is one of the most popular maps for Minecraft. In it we are born on a tiny floating island, where we have to survive and complete challenges with the few resources at our disposal. We will have to turn the coconut and make the most of our environment, where more secrets are hidden than meets the eye. An amazing Minecraft puzzle.

Cube survival
Like the movie Cube, this map is made up of several interconnected cubes (seven in total), each with its own biome, hidden chests, and obsidian blocks. We will have to get hold of the blocks to travel to Hell and destroy the Book of the Damned, but of course, it won’t be easy. Each biome is a totally different micro-world from the rest where new and extravagant dangers lurk. We will have to choose between exploring them all and going armed to the top in our visit to Hell, or if on the contrary we do the minimum necessary to avoid taking risks and we go with the right thing to do in the final battle. Vertoak City
A city of enormous dimensions in which there is no goal or rules. Here the fun is to explore Vertoak City, whose buildings have fully furnished rooms and hide dozens of hidden chests, mysteries and secret rooms. Can you unravel it all? Yes? Assassin’s creep
An open world inspired by, yes, Assassin’s Creed. We will have to go through some of the most emblematic locations of the Ubisoft saga in search of 9 blocks of wool that give us access to a final dungeon in which to fight Abstergo. This map is packed with Parkour challenges and features cool extras like the Wanted posters and the Assassin’s Creed II feathers (which we still have nightmares about).

Future city

Full of skyscrapers, stadiums and hotels, Tazader is a map (and a city) capable of having fun for hours, and perfect for exploring with friends, with whom we can play hockey, set up our own office, visit abandoned places … the most varied and fun Minecraft megacities.

Funland
36 roller coasters, 17 water attractions, another 17 restaurants, 7 shops and 6 parks to stroll around. Need to say more? Funland is the Minecraft amusement park, a gigantic map with more than 100 attractions and secret areas where the history of the park and its owners are told.

Inspired by the game that gives it its name, Payday 2, this map has custom textures, sounds and objects, and proposes us to carry out up to 7 different robberies in cities of Washington, Shanghai and Las Vegas, all cooperating with a maximum of 4 players.

The best Minecraft servers in 2020
Hypixel – IP: Hypixel.net
We started with a classic of all years, Hypixel. It is still the most populated Minecraft server and usually exceeds 100,000 players at certain times of the day. Between all the people wandering around it and the mini-games it offers (TNT-tag, Skywars …), Hypixel makes it practically impossible to get bored.

Minemen Club – IP: Minemen.club
The ideal server if what you are looking for is venting with other players. Minemen is focused on PvP (Player versus Player) matches, offering ranked and arcade games, solutions to avoid the presence of cheats and various game modes. If what you want is to fight one-on-one duels, this should be your choice.

Extreme Craft – IP: play.extremecraft.net
Server servers. This is how Extreme Craft is defined, a portal that hosts access to dozens of different games: hide and seek, egg wars, prison breaks, and so on. It is also packed with people and is updated quite regularly with new construction events and contests. An escape to all the experiences that one can have in Minecraft.

Grand Theft Minecraft – IP: mc-gtm.net
We start with the thematic servers. The first of them, as its name suggests, is inspired by the Rockstar Games saga. An open world full of weapons, vehicles and players with the soul of a mobster. Who will stop them in a world without search levels and without stars? Wait … you! Here anyone can play the role of gangster or policeman, making this “GTA” server one of the most fun and varied out there.

And from GTA we went to Pokémon. Have you ever imagined what Pokémon would be like in Minecraft format? In Pixelmon Harmony you can get out of doubt and see them in front of you, because it contains all the first seven generations. Interact and play with them, or better yet, help recreate the eighth generation and as many regions as possible from the Nintendo saga.

We abandon videogames to travel to the world of cinema and literature. This server is based on Harry Potter and collects some iconic locations such as Hogwarts, The Forbidden Forest or Diagon Alley. It’s also packed with Potterheads to play quidditch with, go to class, or fight wand duels. There’s even a house cast and a Sorting Hat!

Minecraft Middle Earth – IP: build.mcmiddleearth.com
So ambitious that it is still half done. But it’s the same, this version of Middle Earth has so many tributes to the Peter Jackson tapes and the J.R.R. Tolkien that is already worth a look. And if you feel like it, help to finish giving the last brushstrokes (always following the strict construction regulations that the house marks).

From Middle Earth to Westeros. From The Lord of the Rings to Game of Thrones. Unlike the previous one, this server is finished (still receiving constant improvements) and offers some locations of unique architecture and beauty, such as King’s Landing. The best way to wait for Winds of Winter and rewrite the series finale to our liking.

In this one they are not White Walkers, but Undead. This server based on The Walking Dead will excite all who are looking for zombie survival experiences and apocalypse games. Compared to Day Z, it offers dozens of minigames and PvP, PvE and survivals challenges.

We end with an ode to Pirates of the Caribbean and the pirate world in general. Sea of Thieves within Minecraft. An incredible server where you can build your own ship, sail the seas, assault other players and get more loot than Luffy D. Monkey. Because the pirate life is the best life.
