It is already assumed that Sony will also comment on the PS5 at CES in Las Vegas the following night, with the DualShock 5 controller playing a major role here. In advance, further information from a well-known insider has been leaked.
According to this, some rumors about the DualShock 5 controller were confirmed, while others are not applicable. Accordingly, no backside buttons are integrated here, but this does not exclude that the recently introduced back button attachment will not be compatible with the DS5.
It also says that the touchpad still exists, but is significantly more precise, but the light bar on the top is omitted. The DualShock 4 controller, which can also be used together with the PS5, should then ensure backward compatibility. This would only make sense in relation to PlayStation VR.
The following information has now been summarized, but is still unconfirmed:
- The overall scope is a big change and feels great
- The touchpad has been redesigned and feels more precise
- The lightbar is eliminated
- The triggers feel great
- The microphone is built into the DualShock 5
- USB-C connection
- Better battery life
- The haptic feedback is incredible
- No OLED screen.
- No buttins on the back.
- Compatible with PS4, also DS4 with PS5.
