Razer aims to save a million trees with its new merchandising

The company, specialized in gaming products, is expanding a campaign that has already allowed it to save more than one hundred thousand trees by selling its pet’s stuffed animals.

Surely many of you are familiar with the Razer brand thanks to products such as keyboards, headphones or “gamer” chairs. The company, although focused on electronic entertainment, has never hesitated to diversify – and for example, we remember that they also have their own masks – although the initiative that we will talk about today goes well beyond video games. Because, for months now, Razer has also been running a campaign to save forests from deforestation to which it allocates a percentage of the sales of plush toys from its pet, the snake Sneki Snek. A campaign that now, given its success, has grown to host both a more ambitious goal and a new series of products.

For the million trees

Launched in October last year in collaboration with the NGO Conservation International, the original campaign aimed to save 100,000 trees at a rate of 10 trees per stuffed animal purchased. That goal was reached in just two months, so Razer has now set its eye on the million. Getting there will require extra motivation, so this time they have distributed a series of unlocks for new products along the way: those initial 100,000 trees (or 10,000 stuffed animals) have served to add a headrest cushion to the store – also decorated, how no, with Sneki Snek—, and the route hour promises more articles for when the 250, 500 and 750 thousand trees are surpassed, with a final one once the million threshold is crossed.

As you can see in the image above, at the time of publishing this, the campaign has already exceeded 155 thousand trees saved. If you are interested and want to participate in the campaign —which works for the sustainability of forests in countries such as Costa Rica, Ecuador, Suriname, Brazil, Madagascar or Indonesia—, you have just below a link with more information and access to the products themselves.
