For a few days now, rumors have been circulating on the web about a new Resident Evil game that is likely to be released in the coming year. By now it should be clear that it is ‘Resident Evil 8’, which is subtitled ‘Village’ and is currently being tested as part of the Ambassador program.
Accordingly, Resident Evil 8 (VIII) is a kind of sequel to Resident Evil 7, with familiar faces and Ethan again in the leading role. Likewise, you will see Chris Redfield again, but the look will be slightly adjusted. There will also be flashbacks showing Ethan, Mia and their baby born after RE7. With this, Capcom seems to build on the success of Resident Evil 7 and take up its story again.
This is probably also reflected in the opponent, who is a witch who is compared to Marguerite Baker. This too can dissolve into insects as soon as you have defeated them.
Europe is the setting for RE8, where Ethan and Chris meet again. In one scene, you are walking through a village, hence possibly Village, and are supposed to get to a castle while being attacked by the witch, zombies in armor with swords, and animal-like people. The task in this section is to safely barricade yourself somewhere and find a way to the castle.
The extent to which this information is correct cannot currently be checked. However, the announcement of Resident Evil 8 should soon be made as a cross-gen title, with a release in the first quarter of 2021.
