The study responsible for the complete Kratos saga on PlayStation celebrates its 20th anniversary with words of praise.
Sony Santa Monica Studio celebrates its twentieth anniversary at this time. The Californian studio, one of Sony Interactive Entertainment's internal teams, is responsible for one of its most important intellectual properties, God of War. On the occasion of this anniversary, however, they have preferred to praise others, who have served as inspiration for their developers.
With more than 10 million units sold behind them, the team does not hesitate to recognize the merit of other projects, large or small, because they are for Santa Monica "a constant inspiration." The only common denominator in those ten titles cited is that all are available on PlayStation 4. They are the following:
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
- Light blue
- Bloodborne
- The Last of Us: Remastered
- Red Dead Redemption II
- Inside
- Horizon: Zero Dawn
- Uncharted 4
- Marvel’s Spider-Man
- Shadow of the Colossus
While impossible to share all of our favorites, our team selected the following PS4 games that constantly inspire us, to honor our 20th anniversary 🎮

If you are interested in getting to know SIE Santa Monica Studio more closely, this documentary delves into the arduous development that the entire Cory Barlog team had to deal with to make possible the one that ended up being considered GOTY in The Game Awards 2018.
It should be said that the study recently expanded its offices, which currently has more than 200 employees. It was at the beginning of the year when it became known that they were looking for new staff to fill very specific vacancies. And no, there will be no DLC for God of War. Cory Barlog, project director, explained that at the time they had interesting plans and ideas for that expansion, but they would have taken too much time and did not have enough infrastructure to carry it out. “At the time I wrote a pair of DLC. They were interesting ideas, but I think that the amount of time we should have dedicated to them would have taken us to do something like The Lost Legacy, when what we wanted was something like Left Behind or First Light. ”
God of War is available exclusively for PlayStation 4; It is already part of the PS Hits program, where many works – exclusive and third party – have a recommended price of 19.99 euros.
