Some of the country’s most famous streamers and professional gamers are being charged, and studios like Riot Games (League of Legends) have already spoken out.
Rod Breslau, one of the world’s leading esports journalists, reports that dozens of accusations of abuse, sexual assault and misconduct related to female players, streamers and members of the the country’s esports community.
over the last 48 hours dozens of women in the Brazilian gaming, streaming, and esports community have come forward with numerous accounts of sexual misconduct and assault. Riot Games BR has already had to make one statement, would not be surprised if Twitch BR gets involved too

The accusations concern personalities such as Gabriel “MiT” Souza, one of the most followed League of Legends players and coaches in Brazil, who also collaborates with Riot Games as a caster on the LoL competitive circuit. Due to this, the developer has issued a statement in which they break their working relationship with him and confirms that they will not comment on the 2021 season. For its part, MiT has published a note “of clarification” in which it claims to be devastated and ashamed by not having realized the damage he has done, but in which he also puts time in between with the matter and says that it has evolved and matured a lot since then. A response to the following complaint message from Daneila Tatueira, a follower of the medium who has helped to bring the situation to light:
* kitty alert, abuse *
Isso é uma das coisas more difficult than já fiz na minha vida, but it is something that amazes me for years and I will always return, the same is tempting to do everything. pic.twitter.com/bx92Kp0T3H

There have been more cases, such as Fillipe “pancc” Martins, a professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player who has been reported for having inappropriate conduct and conversations with underage female fans. Martins has left social networks and his esports team, Sharks, has opened an internal investigation into the behavior of his player, after which they promise to comment on this whole situation. Proof of the weight of Sharks in the world of esports is their presence in three countries (Brazil, Portugal and Argentina) and their position in the competitive scene of Counter, where they are the third most important team in Portugal.
O yng Sharks Esports has opened an internal process to speed up all the events as a player Filipe “pancc” Martins and will publicly position himself when concluding the procedure.

The MiT case has encouraged dozens of players to share their experiences and complaints, with Fillipe “pancc” Martins being an example of the many that have come to light in recent hours. So many as for Rod Breslau himself to ensure that it would not be surprising that Twitch Brazil take sides in the next few hours and begin to ban some of these streamers. Brazil, as the third country with the most esports fans in the world, should set an example. The journalist also regrets that this continues to happen after 2020 in which huge plots of sexual abuse were discovered in companies of the caliber of Ubisoft, Quantic Dream or Insomniac Games, and in which developers like Nintendo and EA got wet, condemning the situation and promised to pursue all possible cases. We will continue to listen to the reactions of Twitch and the Brazilian esports community to see how it evolves and if this serves as a first step to eradicate such attitudes.
following all of the stories of sexual abuse from women last year and an outcry from the community for more action to be taken, esports organizations dropped players and Twitch permanently banned several streamers from the platform. Twitch Brazil should do the same
