1 million Nintendo Switch in Spain: its 5 best-selling games

After Black Friday, Nintendo Iberica takes stock of the commercial performance of its current gaming platform and the most successful titles.

Nintendo Switch has managed to surpass the million units sold in Spain. The Spanish division has issued a statement saying that the console, according to data provided by the GfK consultancy, has sold 1,036,000 units since its launch on March 3, 2017.

The computed data cover from that date until December 1 of this year 2019, so the accumulated sales during last week, where Black Friday was held, are being considered. Nintendo Switch Lite, the family's only portable model, on sale since last September 20, has participated in making Nintendo Switch the best-selling platform of 2019 in Spain with more than 332,000 units up to that same date. In the United Kingdom, Japan and the United States, Nintendo Switch was the best-selling Black Friday console and also the one with the best sales this year.

Let's go to the software. According to the statement, Super Mario Odyssey is the most purchased video game in Spain for Nintendo Switch since launch. In the following order and without specific figures, this is how things are in the Top-5 of the best-selling hybrid games in our country:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • Splatoon 2
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
  • Nintendo Switch, 41 million units sold worldwide

    According to the latest financial report published by Nintendo in October (figures as of September 30, 2019), the Nintendo Switch family of consoles has already sold more than 41 million units worldwide, of which 1.95 million correspond with Nintendo Switch Lite in its first ten days computed.

    As far as games are concerned, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe accumulates more than 19 million units, while The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening has sold more than 3.13 million units in just one month. In total, since the launch of the console last March 2017, more than 246 million games have been sold.
