Now that some facts about the PS5 and Xbox Series X are on the table, there is again a fairly representative survey of what players want from the new consoles.
Last year it was particularly important to the players that a disc drive is still available, which has now been confirmed. Downward compatibility, graphics and speed were also very important.
However, some of these preferences have now shifted slightly, not least because other things like the disc drive have been confirmed. Over 8,000 players from Europe have now been interviewed, including from England, Germany, Spain, France and Italy.

Accordingly, the graphics are now at the top again, from which you want a significant leap with the capabilities of the new hardware. 68 percent have this at the top of their list. Just behind with 65 percent, players want faster or better no loading times.
40 percent hope that they will move further into the 8K area, while around half of those questioned consider features such as backward compatibility, disc drive and motion controls to be important. Just before the possibility to play 8K games are, among other things, game streaming, non-gaming apps, and behind it virtual reality, handheld modes.
