The Taipei Game Show was supposed to take place in Taiwan next week, but has now been canceled by the organizer. The reason is the spread of the corona virus in China and parts of the world.

To date, only 9 cases in which people have been infected with the Corona virus have been reported in Taiwan, because it is difficult to estimate the risks of transmission and the time between the infection and the first symptoms, so you do not want to take unnecessary risks that go hand in hand with such a mass event.

A statement by the organizer states:

“We are very sorry to announce the different decision of our committee. The 2020 Taipei Game Show was originally scheduled to take place from February 6th to 9th. However, due to the serious outbreak of the Wuhan Corona virus, we decided to postpone the event until this summer. ”

“The Taipei Game Show is one of the most important annual networking events. In this sense, W.H.O. declared a global emergency after the Wuhan corona virus spreads. Given that mass events like the Taipei Game Show increase the likelihood of cluster infections, the organizing committee has decided to avoid such unthinkable risks. ”

The Taipei Game Show will be rescheduled at the same location in summer. Details will follow.
