PS5 DevKits – Performance currently better than the Xbox Series X, PSVR 2 indicated?

All technical assessments for the PS5 and Xbox Series X are currently based on the available DevKits, as the final hardware is still not available. Nevertheless, there are always small tips on how the current status should be.

Via NeoGAF, a potential industry professional has now said that the PS5's performance is currently above the Xbox Series X. This information probably comes from developer circles, even if it can look completely different with newer DevKits.

He himself has no access to the hardware and therefore does not want to put his hand in the fire. He also does not want to commit himself to numbers without having tested them himself. Purely speculative there is a 13.8 in circulation, but personally he does not believe that this is true.

In his view, the next generation will not only be defined by graphics or performance alone, since the differences will be marginal here. It will be “a generation of games” that may differ in frame rate, speed or better sound. But what should ultimately be decisive is what the developers will do with the hardware and with the budget / time available to them.

Keep an eye on PlayStation VR 2

There was also a short statement about PlayStation VR 2, which you shouldn't lose sight of. If you interpret this correctly, Sony could really surprise again with the successor.

There is currently no real evidence for these claims, which is why, as is so often the case, one must still be treated with caution.
