EA and Patrick Mahomes II mock the curse of Madden's cover

The athlete, cover of Madden NFL 20, managed to succeed in the Super Bowl, something that had never happened in the same season.

It is said, it is said, that Madden's covers are cursed. Athlete who appears in one of them, athlete who does not crown in the Super Bowl during the same season. So it was until now, but as the curses are to be broken, the quarterback of the Kasas City Chiefs has shown that being the visible face of Madden NFL 20 does not mean losing in the Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes has triumphed where others had failed, more than enough reason for Electronic Arts to take it on social media.

In a Twitter post, the American company has published a montage in which Mahomes can be seen in the foreground. "What a curse," says the image. A curse that was about to be trampled in the past, when Rob Gronkowski's team, protagonist of Madden 17, raised the trophy. However, one last stone on the road prevented the feat, as the player was injured and did not dispute a single minute of the competition.

That supposed evil eye does not extend to other sports products of the company. In FIFA, for example, many of the players that appear have won all kinds of trophies during the same season. What is clear is that the most superstitious professionals will have no reason to fear, now that the situation has changed for the better.

EA prepares Madden NFL 22 and 13 more games

Electronic Arts recently held a shareholders meeting in which the company's financial results were presented. The entertainment giant announced that it would launch 14 new video games during the next fiscal year 2020-2021, which will begin in April. Although many of these products are not officially announced, annual sports titles will not be missed, at least neither will FIFA 22 nor Madden NFL 22. More doubts are there regarding NBA Live, which was scheduled for 2020 but delayed indefinitely NHL, meanwhile, will regain the annual rhythm of the game.

FIFA 20 was the best-selling game in Spain during the year 2019, followed by GTA V. A curious fact is that the edition of the previous year continues to sell at a good pace and is positioned in third position, as we publish in FreeGameTips. Pokémon Sword and Shield and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are the next titles on the list.
