After ‘Nioh 2’, which will be released in March, developer team Ninja would also like to return to the Ninja Gaiden franchise. However, this is not yet to be seen as confirmation.
As Nioh 2 Game Director, Fumihiko Yasuda, explains, the team is therefore very interested in producing a new game soon, not least because you know that fans want a new Ninja Gaiden.
"The core members of the team that worked on Ninja Gaiden want to start a new game," said Yasuda. “We are aware that some fans of Ninja Gaiden wanted more than Nioh 2. Now we also see a lot of ninja games like [Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice] and we see a lot of good inspiration in these games, so we hope to have some good news someday. ”
Who exactly has to pull the strings in the background remains to be seen. The rights to Ninja Gaiden belong to publisher Koei Tecmo, who would have to decide on a new game. Most recently, one could only look forward to guest appearances by the protagonist Ryu Hayabusa in other brands such as Dead or Alive.
