Skull & Bones development restarted several times?

Playfront

While Ubisoft currently only confirms that its new brand 'Skull & Bones' is still in the works, the development is probably not going as planned. This is currently heard from inside circles.

There are reports that the development has already been restarted several times, and the creative director had already left the project at the end of 2018. This is probably one of the reasons why the development is dragging rather than going ahead and an early release is impossible.

The information comes from the Kotaku editor Jason Schreier, who is usually very well informed about this. There is currently no statement from Ubisoft itself about the game, except that it is in development but will not be released until 2021/22.

Skull & Bones was originally announced as a joint PvPvE experience, in which you travel alone or as part of a pirate gang to the world's oceans. Here you loot on lucrative trade routes, meet powerful empires, fight brutal rivals and survive the pitfalls of the ocean. In addition to the PvP part, a single player campaign was also planned.

You will see what remains of this after the turbulence in development if Skull & Bones should actually be released.
