Many before Brie Larson's debut as Carol Danvers in her individual film and Avengers Endgame, there was already a Marvel Cpitana that we never saw.
Marvel Studios intended to introduce the character of Captain Marvel long before what finally occurred at UCM with the debut of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers in her origins movie and her subsequent appearance in Avengers Endgame. So much so, that thanks to the extras of The Infinity Saga edition with all the UCM films of the first three phases, we can see a Marvel Captain finally discarded in Avengers: the era of Ultron.

Thus, in one of the most exciting scenes of Avengers: the era of Ultron and in which we all expected the mythical phrase of Captain America "Avengers gather!", Could have debuted a Marvel Captain who finally did not appear but we can see in this scene deleted unpublished so far.
So much so that an anonymous actress was used who for many keeps more physical resemblance to Carol Danvers from the comics than Brie Larson (the current Marvel Captain of the UCM) looks like. In this scene we see the Capi with Black Widow and other Avengers such as Falcon, Vision, Scarlet Witch and War Machine; and among them a completely unpublished Marvel Captain.
Initially, both Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, and Joss Whedon, director of the film, intended to introduce the character in Avengers: the era of Ultron, something that did not happen. Even in a 2015 interview, Feige himself acknowledged that it was not yet time to introduce the character:
“The way we present Scarlet Witch with her costume at the end of the movie? Those were the plans for Captain Marvel. Joss said: 'We will choose her later!' And I replied: 'Yes, Joss, we will choose her later. We are not going to put it there. ' Finally, Joss said: 'We are going to use those planes to allow Scarlet Witch to fly and give it a great entrance.' ”
Finally, Brie Larson was presented the following year as Captain Marvel to release her origins movie in 2019 and become part of the UCM from Avengers Endgame. Captain Marvel 2 is already underway with its premiere scheduled for 2022.
