With the next generation around the PS5 and Xbox Series X, Sony and Microsoft have very different strategies again. Not only from the point of view of content, as you now know, the hardware will also differ a little.

This is now underpinned once again by IGN Japan editor-in-chief Shin Imai, according to which Microsoft would like to score again with more performance, while Sony is betting on a cheaper price for their PS5. It was also a great success with the PS4, not least because of the convincing range of games. This formula for success is apparently to be repeated now.

During a live stream, Imai said:

“The Xbox Series X is undoubtedly aiming for higher performance than the PS5. There are some differences in the specifications, so the PS5’s goal is to be cheaper than the Xbox Series X. ”

As usual, however, you should not rely on pure hardware data, which is not fully used at the beginning of a generation. So far, the content and games have always been decisive, and on this point Sony has already indicated that you want to score again with a first-class first-party line-up, while Microsoft will initially forego exclusively.
