Resident Evil 2 Remake sells at a better rate than Resident Evil 7; total sales of the saga

The revamped version of the second installment sells at a faster pace and quickly approaches the game starring Ethan.

The Capcom horror franchise has resurfaced and enjoys enviable health. With Resident Evil 3 Remake on the horizon, the figures do not deceive. The Japanese company has announced that the saga has already sold 95 million copies, all of them distributed through the deliveries that have come out to date. However, another interesting fact is that the new version of Resident Evil 2 has managed to sell 5.8 million copies to date. Resident Evil 7, on the other hand, took two years to pass the 6 million barrier, although it has managed to add a million more since then.

According to data shared by Capcom, during the months from September 2019 to December of the same year, Resident Evil 2 sold 1.1 million units. All this reflects that its sales pace has stepped on the accelerator and travels faster than the last main game of the saga. Faced with that success, Jill Valentine will have to do a lot on his part to continue on that same ascending line.

Nemesis, a tough enemy to peel

The terror in Raccoon City does not stop. The fate of the city may be sealed in the previous chapter, but Jill Valentine still has something to say. In that city full of zombies, surviving is not simple humming, especially when a monster like Nemesis emerges under the rubble of the once peaceful city, invincible and with the ability to use weapons.

In fact, the developers, a team other than Resident Evil 2, have explained that the foundations of this enemy may be that of Mr. X, but that the specific characteristics of Nemesis force them to improve artificial intelligence, since their Nature is different. They have set out to overcome the work of the other study.

Resident Evil 3 Remake will go on sale on April 4 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, the same platforms of the previous remake, which was launched in early 2019. On this occasion, it will incorporate a completely unpublished asymmetric multiplayer mode, Resident Evil Resistance , which recently announced new additions.
