PS5: Sony CFO is pushing for more transparency

Playfront

Sony is still reluctant to provide detailed information about the PS5, which not only seems to be the case from the outside, but apparently they also want more transparency internally.

The financial aspect in particular appears to be of greater concern at the moment, as can be seen in a current report on production planning and costs. Accordingly, these are probably higher than expected and ultimately do not even seem to be very clear.

Therefore, the Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki is now pushing to provide more transparency and information at this point. Internally, however, this does not seem to be well received and probably also triggers some excitement.

As far as the purely financial aspect is concerned, there are plans to make a forecast by the end of April, i.e. also the end of the current financial year, of how the next gaming year will be for Sony and PlayStation. This will probably also reveal the PS5's plans.

It remains to be seen whether it will be necessary to wait until the end of April to get any new information about the PS5. The speculated PS5 Reveal Event is not expected until March, provided that Sony follows the same strategy as the PS4 back then.
