PS5: Analysts make initial sales forecasts

Playfront

Far before the launch of the PS5 towards the end of the year, analysts are making initial estimates of the possible sales figures, which are therefore expected to be a very successful launch.

Well-known industry analyst Hideki Yasuda from Ace Research in Osaka has now commented on the expected sales performance of the PS5, which assumes that Sony will sell around 6 million PlayStation consoles by the end of the next fiscal year in March 2021. According to his estimate, this still includes sales of the PS4.

Where exactly he sees the PS5 in the first months after the launch, there are still no precise forecasts, as it is currently still completely unclear how many units Sony can provide. Delivery bottlenecks regarding the components are expected, but according to Yasuda, this is not a major problem for Sony. This probably also largely depends on how the current situation in China is developing and when the factories there can resume their regular work.

The fact that the PS5 launch is so optimistic is also due to the falling sales figures for the PS4, as reported only yesterday. This would show that many users are already preparing for the PS5 and are planning a timely purchase.
