Sony announces the closure of the official PlayStation forums

From now on and in view of PS5, Sony will focus on using PlayStation.Blog, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram as a communication channel.

Sony has announced that the official PlayStation forums will close this February 27. The Japanese company will make its last great movement of the current fiscal year by closing a community that has remained active for years. From now on, PlayStation.Blog, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram will be the main focus of the Japanese brand to communicate with its users.

PS5 already has an official website: they will focus on it and its social networks

As the company's community manager in the West, Groovy_Matthew, has revealed, this closure is final and irreversible; encourages, however, that all debates, consultations and conversations on social networks and the official PlayStation blog be maintained.

Official PlayStation Forums

Apart from the utility as a forum, where tens of thousands of users of PS3, PS Vita and PS4 exchanged impressions, this website also served to solve frequently asked questions, share possible problems shared with the consoles or publicize news about patches and updates of certain video games.

It should be said that, in parallel, Sony has announced that they will also close on that date the official Sony Xperia forums, the Sony Corporation seal on mobile devices.

The future of PlayStation now goes through PS5, which already has an official logo and website; although they anticipate that they are not yet ready to reveal everything that future users of this fifth generation of Sony home consoles want to hear.

The launch catalog and the starting price – which is causing problems for the company due to the price of some very limited components, such as DRAM – will be details that we will know later. Of course, it will not be in E3 2020, where Sony has confirmed that it will not be for the second consecutive year.

In FreeGameTips, we have made this article where we review all the confirmed video games by Sony and the third companies for PlayStation 5, a list not too extensive but that is growing little by little.
