Legends of Runeterra: 0.9.0 patch note; changes and news

The Riot Games card game receives an update that focuses on balance, among other aspects.

The new Riot Games for PC and mobile, Legends of Runetera, has been released in its beta version and has just received the 0.9.0 patch, which focuses especially on balance. According to RubiZoo, head of the balance team, when making these changes they have taken into account "the higher ends" to those they aspire in the long term. Among the objectives is that the champion must have the mallet with which he complements to fulfill his goals. Thus, non-champions cards must have "at least one deck for which it is a good option."

According to RubinZoo, each region will have at least one mallet that can be used in the competitive environment. On the other hand, it will be that the metagame includes “a wide range of possible decks” for the competitive game. When modifying the cards, they will try not to weaken them too much and minimize collateral damage. The creative confirms that they will outline the equilibrium changes with “a temporary mentality”, with the aim of adapting their methods to the needs of the moment.

After they leave the beta phase, the pace of publications will be as follows:

  • Launch of a new set of cards
  • First balance update: mostly, changes of statistics of a "medium" size based on our first impressions regarding anomalies.
  • Second balance update: Important updates to cards that are not used enough; the main version in which you will find important changes to champions.
  • Third balance update: Limited statistics changes to stabilize any problem with the metagame.
  • Next card set release

The team has started working on usability issues and has confirmed that in the future they will add a redesigned card counter, while changing the cards that appear on the screen. Coin and wild card counters will be reviewed and seek to improve the card creation process.
