Japan's patent office has collected the application of new names by Bandai Namco, SEGA, and Sony Interactive Entertainment.
The end of this fiscal year is approaching and the main Japanese video game companies finalize the latest registrations of the brands they plan to continue using or start using in the future. This time, Bandai Namco, SEGA and Sony Interactive Entertainment are the most prominent for having registered names surrounded by interest and uncertainty.
No news about the price of PS5; neither the date of its presentation
We start with Sony. Those responsible for PlayStation (who have discharged from PAX East and GDC for fear of the Wuhan coronavirus) have finally registered the name of PS5 and its logo, officially revealed during the CES 2020 held last January in Las Vegas . The Japanese had already patented the registration of that name, "PS5" in more than a dozen countries, including the United States and all of Europe; but Japan was missing. They have not transcended news about the console, which will be launched at Christmas 2020, as we have in this report with everything about the machine.

Another leading company is SEGA, which has applied the registration of a new brand related to Sonic the Hedgehog. After the success of the premiere in theaters of Sonic The Movie, we remember that SEGA promised to offer news related to the Sonic 2020 initiative on the 20th of each month.
Finally, Bandai Namco has registered a name for now unknown, "Last Cradle", which may be a new video game or the subtitle of an eventual sequel. Its other related record is "Ring", which may be related to Elden Ring, developed by FromSoftware (Dark Souls, Sekiro, Bloodborne), although there are no details yet in that regard.
